40d Talk:How do I stop miners from falling in channels as they dig them

Where does it 'already exist'? I sure couldn't find it, so that edit looked like vandalism. --Jackard 17:30, 6 December 2007 (EST)

It already exists as an identical article by you. The only change is that this one does not have a "?" in the title. --Metal chao 12:42, 7 December 2007 (EST)
It may show up in Search that way, but I can't access the other page and changing one changes the other. I guess the wiki is just acting up and we should ignore this. --Jackard 13:33, 7 December 2007 (EST)
We should delete one of them, or at least remove the tag adding it to the guides category. Having two of the same thing right next to each other on the list looks silly. --Metal chao 14:26, 7 December 2007 (EST)
Get rid of the older one, then. I changed it to a redirect. But make sure its the older one, because it's hard to get ahold of even without the redirect. --Jackard 17:44, 7 December 2007 (EST)

Why is this considered a 'bug'? It seems to be working as designed, there's lots of times an object a dwarf is looking to move/use gets moved by someone else, given the messages that come up. While this one has more negative consequences, I'm not sure it is a *bug*. Unless Toady has said otherwise? --Gotthard 16:50, 7 December 2007 (EST)

Alright that is amazing, me and my brother were looking for something like that. Thanks! --Gotthard 18:22, 7 December 2007 (EST)

New develpoment: starting from df_27_169_33f, this is fixed.

Yeah this seems to be fixed in 33f. Miners will no longer dig a channel if someone is standing on it. QUESTION - if there is no space to stand on to carve a channel, will they mine the space they are standing on? I assume they do.

Everyone! DO NOT put question marks in names of articles! Due to the way question marks in URIs are handled, the wiki ignores the question mark and everything after it, but creates a redirect page to the article with the question mark and all that follows it. That redirect page cannot be edited or viewed in any way. --Savok 18:09, 14 March 2008 (EDT)

History merge[edit]

This should be history merged from How do I stop miners from falling in channels as they dig them/old - do either of the admins know how to do a history merge? Random832 15:04, 29 December 2008 (EST)

2010[edit]

How should we redo this for DF2010, since it's no longer an issue? --Aescula 06:22, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
