A small snake found in the trees. It kills its prey by using its long body to constrict them.

Pythons are a little strange: while their description claims that they are a "small snake" that lives in trees, the actual creature is 200,000 cm3 in size, the size of a grizzly bear, and some dwarves prefer them for their "great size". Pythons are easily the largest species of snake in the game once they grow out - at half their size, anacondas are a very distant second - but even so, lacking a [LARGE_PREDATOR] tag, they will flee contact with your dwarves. The actual pythons you will encounter in the wild will seldom reach their full size, however, as they continue to grow until they are twenty years old, and pythons only live to be ten to twenty years old ([MAXAGE:10:20]).

They are very good swimmers.
