All of my pets starve fairly quickly... According to the page, the owners are just supposed to feed them, but it doesn't happen, so is there something missing on the page or is this a bug? From what I can tell, they don't seem to be needing water. I only see the Down Brown arrow (guessing that's food, because they all die from starvation). Possible pet starvation bug? (0.44.12)
