This article is about an older version of DF.
A huge monster in the shape of a louse.

Just like normal louses, giant louses are not bloodsucking parasites, for now.

Giant louses are regular giant ground insects, although they lack an attack other than pushing and wrestling.

Like all other insects their max age is very short. They are ubiquitous and will leave your dwarves alone, mostly.

Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

Considering the size of the normal louse and the size of the giant louse (200 000 times bigger), and estimating that a external parasite must be much, much smaller than it's host, one wonders what matter of abnormally colossal, yet unknown beasts this insect sucks the blood of. If the proportionality is still valid, these beasts should be at least ten times the size of an adult dragon.
