A giant two headed monster. Found mainly in [[cave]]s. [[Mayor]]s or other town leaders may want them slain in [[quest]]s.

They attack with [[wrestling]], and due to their [[size]], they are capable of doing some serious [[damage]].

Kao Unagi: I added a caution to sturgeon when encountered in adventure mode.

Sturgeon are large predatory fish. They can seriously wound or even kill a trained war [[dog]], though that dog can sometimes kill them. They will scare away civilian dwarves. They may also be able to kill a low level dwarf.

They are also extremely dangerous in adventure mode, where they can easily chew your head off in mere seconds. If you do find yourself attacked by a sturgeon (for whatever reason), you should simply run away, as they only attack creatures adjacent to them.

Plants grow in soil or mud. Some appear spontaneously while others need to be planted in [[farming|farm plot]]s created by you. Note that the seeds and plants you can bring along with you can only be planted indoors while plants that you gather outside can only be planted outside.

A square of ground is considered outside if there is a direct path upwards (z-axis) to the highest level, it is possible to change the designation of a square by either building floors or channels above it as required.

The miners are necessary to build any kind of fortress, unless your planning on building everything out of wood.

The higher the skill level in miner, the faster that dwarf mines. Miners are required to dig, build channels, dig out stairs and ramps, and remove said stairs and ramps. Miners require a pick, and nothing else.

Workshops are the general area where work gets done.
They can be built from almost any material, from the {{K|b}}uild->{{K|w}}orkshop menu.
To start a task at a workshop, press {{K|q}} and move the cursor near to it.

The most important workshops are probably the mason's workshop and the carpenter's workshop.
The mason's workshop can build stone items like doors, tables, and chairs.
The carpenter's workshop can build wooden items such as beds, buckets, and barrels.
