I found a vein of hematite in a phyllite layer, a metamorphic layer; however according to the current information hematite only occurs in sedimentary or igneous extrusive layers. Frogman 00:43, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- The vein almost certainly originated in a sedimentary or igneous extrusive layer a short distance away - it's not uncommon for minerals to extend a ways outside of their natural environment. --Quietust 02:56, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
