This article is about an older version of DF.

Megabeasts are mighty creatures that attack your fortress. When one enters your area, the game will announce its presence and its name (though it will not pause the game or center the screen on it).

Megabeasts will not arrive until you have a Mayor, Trade minister, and Treasurer (and are eligible to have a Count). Since megabeasts are immune to all forms of traps in this version, players are advised to train a suitable military before making such advancements.

Included in this category are the Bronze colossus, Dragon, Hydra, and Titan.
