Weaponsmithing is used to make metal weapons (excluding crossbows, which are made using the bowyer skill) and bolts at a metalsmith's forge.

Skilled weaponsmiths make weapons faster, and make them higher quality.

Making a weapon grants 30 experience points.

Since the Metalsmithing labor covers not only this skill but also armorsmith, metalsmith, and metal crafter, it may be difficult to control which dwarves perform each type of smithing task.
