Hi! I think this is my first contribution… I've noticed a number of namespace-less redirects currently appear to redirect to the wrong version. For instance, at least on my end, the pages Notes currently redirects to v0.34:Note, despite the fact that directly viewing the former page displays a redirect to the DF2014 namespace, accomplished by using this CategoryVersion template. I can't reproduce it this every non namespace redirect though, strangely enough. Henges (talk) 10:50, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

CV redirects broken?[edit]

I can't reproduce it in every non namespace redirect though, strangely enough. Henges (talk) 10:50, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

The wiki software handles double redirects poorly. The result of the chain of redirects is cached somewhere, leading to incorrect redirects when the chain is later changed. This is a perennial problem with the way the wiki implements old versions; see Dwarf_Fortress_Wiki_talk:Versions#Reorganizing_versions for my suggested fix.--Loci (talk) 23:01, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
You're confusing the cv namespace (current version, an alias to DF2014) with this template, which is unrelated. The good news is that we are working on a MediaWiki upgrade again, and I think I've identified at least one cause of double redirects breaking, and it might be possible to patch. —Lethosor (talk) 04:47, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
