Economy (Also know as the "Stacksofonecoinitis" disease) is a truly annoying part of the game for many and also a source of much fun quite often. If you really feel you need to know about it you should do one out of two three things:

A: Do the easy thing if you are a new player that doesn't really know how the game works: Disable Economics (For now atleast). To do it, Go to you dwarf fortress folder, enter the "Data" folder then the "Init" folder. Open the file named "Init". Search for the line [ECONOMY:YES] and replace it with [ECONOMY:NO]

B: If you are experienced enough to figure out stuff a bit on your own, try out the 40d guide for it, avaible through the bar above this text. Be aware though, while it's not likely to have been major changes you should take everything written there with a grain of salt (or whip vine flour, should you prefer that) as it may be inaccurate due to changes or bugs.

C: Simply wait until someone updates this with current information instead of this cobbled together thing.

Note that Economy may or may not be broken for now anyway, it's a bit unsure.
