This article is about an older version of DF.

A floor is any map tile that a creature can walk upon. A floor is formed:

  1. naturally, as in the ground like grass, soil, or stone,
  2. by constructing walls, thereby creating a floor on the level above, or
  3. by constructing floors.

Though it is possible to create a floor with an empty tile below it, all wall tiles necessarily have a floor above them.
