This article is about an older version of DF.
A man-shaped creature made of iron.

Iron men have the same average size as an adult human and can Template:L. Upon 'death' iron men become a random masterwork iron Template:L. Parts like thumbs and noses removed from the statue during combat may be Template:L at a Template:L in order to produce a small amount of Template:L.

Iron men emit a Template:L gas which causes a condition called "Iron man Cough" which is visible as the dwarf coughing up blood for a short time. Dwarves with standard disease resistance will experience a peak in coughing shortly after (100 Template:L) after infection, and will recover in less than a game day (1000 time units out of a full day's 1200 time units). These periods will vary according to the disease resistance of the infected dwarf, but the disease is not life-threatening. Unless, of course, Template:L is the straw that breaks the camel's back of your dwarf's Template:L.

Creature behavior and origin

D4Dwarf.png This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

Surprisingly, the Iron Man does not deplete your fortress Template:L supplies. On rare occasions humans who exhibit strange moods may sometimes turn into one of these.
