How does the BABY_CHILD_CAP work exactly? There is a fixed number, but also a percentage. A percentage of what exactly? And how will it affect the total numbers of baby's and children? - Amras

"This allows you to control the number of babies+children in your fortress. The first number is an absolute cap on the number of babies+children. The second is a percentage of the current number of adults in your fortress (the default is the essentially meaningless 1000% here). The lower number is used as the cap. The cap only prevents further pregancies, so migrant children, multiple births and existing pregnancies from old saves can still push you over the cap. Setting either number to zero will disallow pregnancies in the fortress."

Population Cap

[POPULATION_CAP:X] value seems to have no effect on maximum number of dwarves or migrant waves. Possible bug?

God damn it, that better not be the case, since apparently my computer can't handle 190 dwarves in the same fort and keeps crashing when I get a few too many. The pop cap I'm hoping will prevent this from occurring. 107.9.22.199 05:47, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
