Mummies have the capability of cursing ones adventurer, this makes the fellow fell horrible and will have a much more difficult time fighting, and will most certainly die if he/she stays any longer.
They also raise the dead nearby. And can reraise them once you knock them down. Really unpleasant. Kill the mummy first.
