:::::The numbers are a numerical representation of skill rank that start at 5 - Dabbling and go up to 25 - Legendary +5. They are only shown when you're starting a new fortress/adventurer and are assigning skills to them. Unless you use certain mods which also display them (some may also start at 0 for Dabbling instead of 5 like the game does. The game starts at 5 in Dabbling so that it costs 5 points to get Novice, another 6 for the next level, etc. Otherwise it'd be too cheap to get the levels. ::Oh ''now'' I get it - you folks have really really decided to consider the '''cost''' for buying a level to be the actual '''level'''? And it never bothered you that there is no level 0 to 4 then? And that not ''having'' a level is level 5? That a dwarf starts every skill at level 5? And that no skill and dabbling, which are clearly 2 different levels, fall toghether in one? And that you pay with '''money''' just the amount shown? --[[User:Koltom|Koltom]] 01:19, 18 August 2009 (UTC) | ::Oh ''now'' I get it - you folks have really really decided to consider the '''cost''' for buying a level to be the actual '''level'''?
