− | :Wild animals | + | :Wild animals receive a name once they've killed something. (I'm not sure if the kill has to be one of your dwarves/pets.) I've also seen an announcement about creatures getting "awarded" a name (this happened with a zombie batman after several years of it being continuously on the map -- the dwarves would just run away from it).
