Is it possible to have a 'hanging' (for better reliability of power transfer) windmill partially supported so it won't fall?

:I don't think so.  Walling every tile except power-transfer in the middle still leaves it thinking it's "hanging".  It wants "ground" and no substitute will do! [[User:Corona688|Corona688]] 15:12, 13 October 2008 (EDT)

I've added a "tutorial" to the main page, and for now am moving this subsection intact to here for improvement - right now it's not completely clear what the distinction is between brown and black, and short-dashes and long.  If someone can improve the text/commentary in this so it's clear to someone who has never built a windmill (part of our target audience), feel free to replace it. (At least label it "Unusual ''windmill'' behavior"!)  --[[User:Albedo|Albedo]] 21:38, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

* A gear assembly which has been disconnected by a lever does not support machinery.  No machinery can hang on top of it, and anything already hanging on it will fall apart.  In 2 (above), disconnecting the gear assembly would dismantle the windmill and prevent another from being built until it was reconnected.
 +
* Windmills built on floors can transfer power through them.
