: Of mine, 3 of 3 (in 2 different fortresses) have celebrated. The celebration is a party at a (probably random) dining room / zoo/ statue - both of the couple get Attend Party for a while, as do at least some other dwarves. Are you perhaps not defining anywhere for them to hold a party? (I also remember reading on the forums that they wouldn't celebrate in the first year, as with any other party, though I can't find that now) - Cim 17:26, 15 April 2008 (EDT)

ok i changed the main page... if anyone gets dwarves that dont celebrate marriage in a statue garden, zoo etc, please change it so that it is appropriate. Twiggie 11:44, 17 April 2008 (EDT)

:Two of my dwarves just got married and decided to forego any formal celebration, although I have 5 zoo cages and 10 statue gardens(one of them even has an artifact saguaro statue). I've heard they only do that when you don't HAVE a room, but this seems not to be the case... --Wizjany 14:38, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

::Just out of curiosity, is it possible for multiple "Lovers"? That is to say, can a dwarf have more then one wife? What if the wife dies, can he marry again? --AlexFili 06:29, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

:::Surely you meant can a dwarf have more than one husband. Don't we all know how dwarves value their scarce women...--Höhlenschreck 17:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I have a fortress running on it's 14th year with very small socialising areas and a population cap of 30. I'm pretty sure neither multiple lovers nor re-marrying is an option. Dwarves, it seems, are very monogamous. Also, all my married couples have held a celebration, I feel that implies that celebrations are only foregone if there is no place to hold them, although that isn't quite for certain --Sartain 20:29, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

:No, it's not just about free rooms. Sometimes dwarves just want to get married in peace. People in real life do the same thing. --AlexFili 04:46, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

I have noticed that married couples always share a deity. Their children also worships this deity, though lovers don't share deities. I suspect the marriage means they choose one deity and worship it together and raise children in its image. I'm not sure if they choose one of the deities they worshipped before getting married but it seems logical. Can anyone confirm? --Aspgren 5th February 2010 (EDT)

Do military dwarf lovers marry when on duty? When off duty? 212.119.56.254 05:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

:I've seen married soldiers, although they may have been married before one was recruited. Studoku 04:48, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
