I avoided that area of the mountain so I had to work on my second tower instead. When I was doing that I saw that my miner's couldn't find there way to the food and drinks. I was panicking [[Image:Nail_Bitting.gif]]. I was so worried that I was going to lose 3 of my best miner's. Then I thought maybe I have to mine a different way. So I did that. I mined to ground level and my miner's ran to the warm arms of beer.  It's okay I was going to mine there anyways.

I am not done  yet but my whole fortress is starving. So I saved that and now I am using one of my previously saved  files, one that was saved before I was digging into the mountain, winter of 1051. Let me tell you everything. You know how there are dwarves being added to your fortress, that are called [[migrant|migrants]]? Well they had no way of getting to the entrance of my fortress so they would just wait there and die. The same thing happened with merchants, but they wouldn't die they would leave, when I needed more resources. So I sat there and thought maybe I could mine a way out of my fortress where I could put a [[trade depot]]. I looked at the very tip of my fortress and I thought, "Oh what the hell." and so I mined roads through to the north and west of my fortress. Then all of these starving thirsty migrants started to flood in through the trade depot roads. It was hard enough trying to support my fortress with a very low quantity of food but adding around 20 dwarves to my fortress at one time completely depleted my food supply. This time I will try to make adequate food storage available for my fortress.
