From the article: "Dwarves also seem to be very averse to loading corpses and refuse into minecarts." In my experience, dwarves have no problem disposing of refuse and corpses using a quantum stockpile. (I have the minecart dump into a pit cleaned by an atom smasher.) It is a little fiddly to set up, but that's a limitation of the wonky way stockpile settings handle garbage, not a problem with the quantum stockpile itself. --Loci (talk) 20:17, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Atom Smasher
If you engrave a memorial slab for a Dwarf that has been atom-smashed it may read "crushed by a drawbridge" - the game is aware that the creature was destroyed by a drawbridge lowering and does not consider them 'missing', despite the fact that the 'Urist McVampiric has been missing for a week' message will be generated. This probably relates to the old movie adage, "they're not dead unless you see the body." --96.234.158.78 03:19, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
