Again, why do we have a redirect for the plural of an existing page?--Draco18s 20:25, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Its been discussed in DwarfFortressWiki:Community_Portal. --Mizipzor 20:28, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I only see a note that "Just FYI, if at all possible, do not create pages as plurals." and I've seen two pages created after the original that are plural and contain only a redirect.--Draco18s 20:33, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Check rule P. --Mizipzor 20:41, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Are you referring to the exception to the rule? "The titles of new pages should be singular nouns except for terms that are always plural." Skulls aren't always plural (unless I'm mistaken, they always drop in ones), Rock Salt (there's a redirect for that one too) is neither plural, nor a proper noun, and thus should not be Dual Capitalized. I could see "chunks," because they seem to always come in piles, but they aren't normally pluralized (you can have one chunk). I fail to see your point.--Draco18s 20:56, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Maybe I missunderstood your initial point. You ask why we have a redirect from the plural to the singular? The answer to that is the rule, as you stated. The reason the plural form of the article exists as a redirect is, in my opinion, that it prevents people from creating the plural form and for people that search for the plural form but still ends up in the right lociation. But since you were aware of the rule I feel I must have missunderstood you. --Mizipzor 21:14, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Alright, I wasn't sure. It felt silly and wanted explanation. Appologies if I wasn't clear in my question originally.--Draco18s 22:04, 4 November 2007 (EST)
