This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

Dwarf Fortress premium edition features Steam Trading Cards, which are digital collectibles exclusive to Steam, and can be combined into badges, which contribute to your Steam profile level. They have been introduced into the game on December 22, 2022 alongside the v50.04 update.

There are 9 cards in the set. Playing the game will earn you 5 random cards, and upgrading the badge will require you to trade or buy additional cards.

Trading Cards[edit]

The cards and their full artworks feature different biomes available in the game, as well as some creatures living there.

Foil cards[edit]

Foil Cards are rarer and more expensive versions of the regular ones. However, they don't contribute any more experience to your Steam profile level.

Artworks[edit]

Badges[edit]

After completing a set of cards, you can combine them to upgrade your Dwarf Fortress badge, which can be showcased on your Steam profile. Badges level 1 through 5 feature a dwarf on tiles of wood, stone, bronze, silver, and gold tiles respectively, and the foil badge features an image of a gorlak on an adamantine tile.

Booster Pack[edit]

Booster Packs are randomly given out to an eligible user. You become eligible once you have gotten all of your drops for playing the game. A Booster Pack contains 3 random cards from the set. You can also buy and trade the Booster Pack or purchase it using Gems, a Steam-exclusive digital currency.

Emoticons[edit]

You receive an emoticon alongside a profile background when you level up your badge. These can also be bought and traded. They can be used to liven up your Steam chat messages.

Profile Backgrounds[edit]

You receive a profile background alongside an emoticon when you level up your badge. These can also be bought and traded. These can be featured on your Steam profile.
