A FUN adventure!
I am going to post a story on what Not to do in dwarf fortress...
Starting with Aquifers
I had decided on embarking on a location where a there was an aquifer present. Throwing caution to the wind with my boozed up colonists I altered the raw to give em super speed...a decision I would regret for prolonging my fun... The aptly named group of seven named,"Drowning Gears" founded "Firemog"A top of a desolate hill amidst a bountiful forest full of doe and rhesusi monkeys. I quickly designated the surrounding area for deforestation and plant gathering as My miner hollowed out the hill for the carpentry workshop and furniture warehouse. As the dwarfs speedily set upon the task I got a feel for the land... I noticed that there was a deep chasm..."Oh Joy!" I cried, and Immediately set my miner to mine out the legendary dining hall, bed room, and mason workshop. after deciding to move the Carpenters workshop below the second layer along with everything else... After the the dwarfs had finished there tasks and were cheerful going about their tasks, building beds, doors, tables, and statues, and hauling them to the furniture warehouse, I set my miner to mine out the side of the chasm, for a neat water fall that I was going to place on the other side of the chasm... And then I left my dwarfs to themselves as I went to take a Restroom break...
When I came back It appears That My entire fortress was flooded and my dwarfs were washed out into the chasm... all but 1 dwarf remained, Abok the fisherDwarf. who was being torn apart by zombie hippos...
What fun!
