This article seems to be trying ton condense the old starting build, starting build design and challenge articles - and is losing a lot of info in the process for no gain. And tossing info out the window is not a good plan. Reworking the old Starting Build into "core" and "extra" info might be worthwhile, but I see this as a "Starting Build Lite" article.  --Albedo 20:28, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
:Perhaps you're missing the point? To put it simply, the point is to bring back the "Archive wiki" (that is, the wiki which covers the 2D version 0.23.130.23a) within this namespace rather than the ridiculously slow (and search-incapable) archive.org copy. If we had a database snapshot of archive.dwarffortresswiki.net, the entire import would probably be done by now, but we don't, so I'm doing it one page at a time. The page contents are supposed to be several years old. Also, it's "40d", not "d40". --Quietust 05:14, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

:As has been stated on the other 23a article talk pages, this is all just a direct copy from the original wiki and is only meant to be a starting point - once everything is actually in Wiki markup, then people can go about cleaning things up for those who still want to play the old version. --Quietust 23:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
::(Um, 40d - yeah, I knew that - I was testing you...) Right.  Tracking now.  I... somehow, I had the impression... well, nm, I was confoozled.  Right, carry on.--Albedo 18:58, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

::This is not a direct copy of starting build - nothing like. Where did you find this? Have a link?--Albedo 00:47, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

:::It's a copy of this page. Perhaps "original wiki" was the wrong term - "archive wiki" would be more accurate. --Quietust 02:13, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

::::Zoiks! "Last Modified: Wednesday, October 03, 2007".  I bet that is the genesis of all three pages I listed above.  Let's stay away from those, and stick to the "d40" articles, mebbe? --Albedo 03:28, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
