Animals out!

Anyone got a good way of keeping the animals out of my dining hall?

I set up the kennel with a designated animal stockpile and marked it as a meeting hall. Then I noticed that all my dwarves were eating, then racing up to be with the animals. So I marked my central table as a meeting hall, and all the animals raced downstairs to trample all over my food stockpile... there has to be a better way! GarrieIrons 01:52, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

I avoid pets at almost all cost, except my cats (all of one gender) who exist to kill vermin. I used to have a war dog breeding operation, but now I have dozens of them and the swarms of animals got too annoying. I also have a camel breeding operation for bones.
