I'm not going to change anything back, but I've not had a single problem with being poisoned, or attacked in general by them. The only times I've seen them have been in colder climates, although I guess I could have been lucky. They also seem to occur with great frequency with werewolves, I've been able to pick the last 3 maps with both of them consistently.
