The Survival Challenge!

Run by The Architect

back to Games

note: this is NOT a bloodline game.

Current Rules

New goals/Awards added, Rules updated.

From the Forum:
No maximum # of players. Just ask to be added to the competition! It ends the 29th of October. You may restart as many times as you like until you survive the Spring, after that you're locked in. If you die at a later time, the honest thing to do is admit defeat and wait for the next playthrough.

Awards for:
Sheer Style
Smiter: Evil population control (bonus if you somehow manage to attract and kill a mega in this time period, bonus for style such as outdoor flooding traps, balista chutes, etc)
"Noble Aspirations": Have the largest and best-satisfied nobility, with style!
MegaConstruction
Merchantilism: Most Wealth
Popularity: Population count minus dead
North Korea: self-destruct switch, taking out the enemies with you!
Military: pretty self-explanatory. Kill, up close and personal! traps are for cowards!
Defender of the Peace: Don't allow merchants to die (will be damn near impossible, i know) or provoke war with human/elven civs
Ronald McDonald: Food/farming
Woody Allen: Wood-related production (with an unsafe surface? good luck!)
Hell on Earth: clear out the HFS! Bonus for style!
ePITome of Power: clear the Chasm or Pit first. Bonus for least citizens lost to pit residents.
Gobbler: Clear the Goblin Towers first. (N/A)

Depending on how awards are completed, you may attain multiple awards, for instance should you clear the goblin tower fast and not lose too many dwarves, while doing it face-to-face (not using traps) you may qualify for the Gobbler, Popularity, AND Military awards. Not sure how to determine winners for food production and wood production yet. Artifacts aren't the product of your skill and will be excluded from your scores; however a legendary dwarf who made the artifact will certainly boost you if you keep him alive!

Post your economic stats, population and deaths, monster kills, and merchant deaths for the first year on the linked forum asap, so that our Leaderboard can be updated.
