Potential info to add.[edit]

Nowhere in the article does it mention what affects placing an item in the display case actually has, such as maybe producing a better thought or increasing the value of the room. I don't actually have the answers to this myself, would be appreciated if someone more knowledgeable could add to the article.

I would imagine pedestals and display cases function the same, and I just tried putting some artifacts on pedestals in the throne room of my queen. It's still only rated as a "throne room", while the value should be above 50k. I looks like this is a bug (documented here), although Loci didn't have the issue. I got the Lazy Newb Pack installed, so maybe that's it? -- Danarca (talk)
I can confrm that objects on display don't add to the display furniture's value. I tested that with three ≡sphalerite pedestals≡, one with an artifact figurine, one with a forgotten beast skeleton, and one empty. All of them generated a happy thought of "being next to fine tastefully arranged Display Furniture", which means the object on display had no effect on the value, and the ones with the artifact and the skeleton gave an additional happy thought about "admiring the <object> on display", despite the skeleton being worth 0☼ -- DarklingArcher (talk) 17:47, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
Note that furniture used to define a room doesn't add to *any* room's value.Bug:10700 If that isn't the problem, you're invited to upload a save to DFFD so the matter can be reproduced and investigated.--Loci (talk) 19:05, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
