:: yeah, not the best time of the shift for editing. Regardless, there are still a lot of inconsistencies, can't move forward without some science and I was unable to untangle this in the couple minutes I could fire up DF. --[[User:Jan|Jan]] ([[User talk:Jan|talk]]) 16:35, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Had a little time for science to address few things from above:

* Traction benches are only used to treat the rare 'overlapping fractures'.

* No such things as complex fractures, only 'compound fractures' which aren't fixed by bone doctor nor require a Traction bench

* Bones can be either 'fractured' or 'broken' these are require to be 'set' and 'immobilized' both done by a 'bone doctor' (doesn't require a traction bench, nor 'wound dresser' for the casts)

* Compound fractures, when broken bones also injured the organs around them, compound on bone injuries and are listed along side them, and are 'repaired' by surgeon on table followed by the regular treatment for bone injures. Wound example:

** Right foot, bone: Compound fracture, smashed apart

** Right ankle, muscle: Compound fracture, cut apart

Have yet to

* observe an overlapping fracture, to check if surgeons is involved.

* check the claim that suture also treats nerve damage, which supposed to be impossible to fix.

* see where 'suturer' work stop and 'surgeons begins.

* also not sure how strain bruised Tendon & Ligament are treated. ( my dwarfs refuse to get injured for science )
