You can cut large gems into two smaller versions, or create a big selection of gem items and furniture. All reactions just need one gem, except the gem anvil, it needs three.
You can make furniture from gems here. Just treat this as a mason that uses gems instead of boulders. All reactions need one gem, except the gem anvil, which needs three.
