Shrine of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

Shrines are the most basic of religious buildings. Any dwarf can pray at them to receive a small gift from Armok. The success rate is very low, 3-6% for most things. Pray 30 times, get 1 item. But it is free. So if your moody dwarf is about to go berserk, pray for whatever he is missing.

Please keep in mind that the Strand Extraction skill is renamed to Apostle of Armok in the mod. They work in the religious buildings and can work the holiest metal of them all, Adamantine.

Altar of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

The Altar allows offerings to the bloodgod. I deliberately will not spoil what you might receive for those. You have a small chance of 10-20% to get a special item from this.

Offering a life will kill the dwarf doing the reaction. It will always result in a reward by Armok. Finally something to do for your migrants. Beware of possible tantruming, because no one likes a work climate that involves human sacrifice. Well, dwarven...

Please keep in mind that the Strand Extraction skill is renamed to Apostle of Armok in the mod. They work in the religious buildings and can work the holiest metal of them all, Adamantine.

Temple of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

The Temple is the highest religious building you can create. Sacrificing a life to Armok here will result in a much greater reward then at the Altar.

You can offer weapons and armor to Armok. Again, I will not spoil what you might receive.

Praying for a golem heart has a small chance of getting the heart, or even turning your worker into a golem directly. It needs iridium, which is very rare. Each ore in the game carries 1% base iridium, so you need to do a lot of smelting.

Asking Armok for help against the cult will temporarily transform your dwarf into a holy ward of armok. He will stay on the temple and reveal the cultleade r of the carp god, if he comes into line of sight. Have your dwarves go to the temple to screen them. If you wonder what this is all about, check the General Changes tab and look up cults. The Ward can also heal possessed dwarves. Possession can range from werebeasts, over demons up till necromancy.

Performing ceremonies need a lot of raw materials, but have a chance of affecting every dwarf in your fortress with a positive effect. Armoks blessing raises attributes, Armoks courage defeats fear and Armoks Wrath prevents tantrum spirals.

Sacrificing the leftovers of dead warlocks will give you several special items. You might get soul fractures that can be combined in the Research Study. You can also get voodoo poisons for the Toxisicst, or Gargolyes that you can set up as guards.

If you praise Armok with a massive offering, which costs as much as all the ceremonies put together, you will receive the Guardian of Armok. You can spawn him at any Spawn Location. What is the Guardian you ask? An. Iron. Colossus. Your own private megabeast.

Please keep in mind that the Strand Extraction skill is renamed to Apostle of Armok in the mod. They work in the religious buildings and can work the holiest metal of them all, Adamantine.
