Discussion about the purpose of this article

Why? There are already links to the Wikipedia article around the wiki, and I doubt the version on this wiki will be as well-maintained. Also, I don't know if linking to the original article in the edit summary and here is sufficient attribution. —Lethosor (talk) 21:44, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
A simple misunderstanding. This version can be better integrated into this wiki (linking to Toady's article for instance), as well as hold information that wouldn't be acceptable on Wikipedia. I've got bigger plans that what it is right now (splitting off reception into a separate article). The major point I'm trying to get across is that this article's pupose isn't to mirror the Wikipedia version, that version is just the starting point.
As for the license issues you bring up: wikipedia: Wikipedia:Reusing Wikipedia content, it doesn't specify where the attribution must be located. But one thing I do know is that when re-using material within Wikipedia it is okay to just have the notice in the edit summary and/or talk page. Brightgalrs (talk) 23:47, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Merging history section with History of Dwarf Fortress

The history section of this article is currently more thorough that the supposedly dedicated History of Dwarf Fortress, which is also mentioned as a "main article" here. I suggest that either much of the information on this page gets moved over there, for a complete history account in one place, or the other article has its name changed to "release history" or something akin to that, and the history section is allowed to remain on this page. The latter suggestion is in line with how the other article is currently used, though an article containing only "release history" only may not serve much of a purpose not covered by either compiled "history" (then contained in this article) or the release information logs. --Voliol (talk) 09:00, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Feedback Loop

Yeah, the LethosorBot thing broke this page so that it obviously keeps trying to redirect to itself. In other words, it leads nowhere. --Zippy (talk) 12:17, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
