Has this '''ever''' been true? The only events I've seen were tantruming prisoners '''destroying''' their restraints, but that's just because the restraint was a building, so a chain wouldn't be any stronger than a rope (and not even the metal would matter - tin, steel, and adamantine would be equally vulnerable). --[[User:Quietust|Quietust]] 20:53, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
::I've only has one dwarf tantrum while chained to a copper chain, and he never broke it, however, i cannot verify the rope part myself. Assuming, it is possible to wear out a rope much much faster than a chain, so if this was realistic, i'd assume a rope would break on the 4th or 5th guy chained to it. So it may need verification. In my current fort I've had at least two prisoner dwarfs die of thirst, and not for lack of liquids. I've got a couple wells, plentiful buckets, and a booze stockpile in the jail cell.
<br /><br />mk: me too, with .14 -- even designating someone who likes helping others to be in a burrow that includes only a well, a stockpile of buckets and the prison didn't help:  the "maid" just stood in the hall until the prisoner died of thirst.

I'm trying to set up booze and food stockpiles inside the jail and have one of each in every cell, but instead of bringing a barrel of booze and a stack of my masterfully-cooked meals, the dwarves just put a single empty barrel on the stockpile square. ::It's one of those "minor" glitchy things - the dwarves look at your single-square stockpile, see that it should have a barrel on it (to hold stuff, don't'cha know), and bring an empty barrel.  Now that it's full with a barrel, they won't bring a barrel of booze.  And I think the meals won't fit in a barrel either.  Solution?  Two two-square stockpiles per cell, one of which holds only booze (and up to two barrels), and the other holds only food (and no barrels). --[[User:DeMatt|DeMatt]] 15:29, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
