Has anyone tested what happens to this rock when it is exposed to water? And is it really safe to keep dwarves near it? --TarrVetus 13:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Just answered one of my own questions. Water does nothing to SMR. Could this rock be the source of magma seas?--TarrVetus 13:45, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Semi molten rock also occurs free standing, not surrounded by any magma, and nothing leaks from it. So I doubt that it generates magma like an aquifer. 79.217.119.117 15:41, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Channeling

Digging a channel above semi-molten rock results in a regular upward slope and, on the level the channel was dug, a 'magma flow' tile, similar to that in the magma sea. However, it (thankfully) does not produce any magma. -Goffrie 01:04, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Further observations: the upward slope is only created when the tile is hidden before digging. The magma flow can also be walked on. -Goffrie 01:14, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
