Let us not forget The Story of Tragedy Mule (not for the faint of heart, shows rewall and ponds) (playable in 0.47.05 and earlier). --Quietust (talk) 12:50, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Here's a text description of this video from 2007-08-30 by Puke. Summary here:
- you can designate water sources! no more dwarfs drinking from where you dont want them to drink!
- it uses the rewall feature to build a little 3 level tower. and designates a pit to drop animals into. just look at all the features in this movie, and all the options you can see in the interface! watch how the water spills out when the wall of the tower is deconstructed!
- i notice "smooth stone" and "engrave stone" are different commands. also, paved roads and dirt roads are different designations. also, there is a (V)isualize command from the main menu. also, it tells you if something you are building is going to be blocked. wow. you really have to watch this thing. designating activity zones? wow.
- I suppose "rewall" is what the "construct wall" feature used to be called. Jecowa (talk) 17:54, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Prior to version 0.27.169.32a, once a tile was dug out there was no way to fill it back in (you could place a door or floodgate, but trolls could smash those down). "Rewalling" was indeed Toady's initial name for building constructions, first mentioned in the devlog on 2007/07/24. --Quietust (talk) 21:38, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
