Still having problems keeping track of all my dwarves.
I can now keep track of my dwarves.
Now I'm having problems keeping track of all the blood.
Initial setup: Get Sliver Barbs[edit]
Lately I've been obsessed with farming Sliver Barbs, so my fortresses have been set in evil areas. Thus my first priority is to set up a safe dining/sleeping area that I can recall my dwarves to during a grimeling attack.
This is Tosidmamot, and it's set in a hot, sinister savanna. I'm using a tiny custom tileset.
My second priority is to dig a tunnel straight down until I hit the first cavern. This gives me a "dump" that I can use to dispose of water from my underground farms (note that Sliver Barbs can only be grown above ground) and to empty my well reservoir if necessary. Eventually I'll build grates and stone floors to keep all the flying cavern dwellers out of my fortress.
