I think this still applies to the current version (the "suspended construction" method still works, at least). While dwarves no longer wall themselves in, they can still wall themselves ''out'' without intervention. For example:

In situations like this, I've had dwarves decide to build walls from the red floor instead of the green floor, which presumably isn't considered "walled in" by the game, but still isolates the dwarf from the rest of the fortress. (This can also occur when walling off a fortress entrance – a dwarf can be walled out of the fortress if they construct the last section of wall from the outside.) —[[User:Lethosor|Lethosor]] ([[User talk:Lethosor|talk]]) 19:25, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

Why does this page exist?

Does this topic deserve it's own page? Would it be better rolled into another page, such as Wall or more generically Construction? If not, how can we improve it's quality? --Raveturned 10:33, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Re: Does not apply to current version

I think this still applies to the current version (the "suspended construction" method still works, at least). While dwarves no longer wall themselves in, they can still wall themselves out without intervention. For example:
