I'm sure you found the answer by now, but just in case you didn't... Spheres are topics/aspects of influence that are connected to the randomly generated deities in the ''Dwarf Fortress'' world. There are some creatures in the game that have static spheres, so [[bogeymen]] are always connected to the following spheres: misery, night, nightmares. That makes perfect sense, they're evil creatures that cause absolute misery, cackle at their prey, only appear at night and can take on a horrifying, nightmarish appearance. They ''are'' scary nightmarish creatures overall.

Things that are procedurally generated, like [[megabeast]]s, could be attached to a number of random spheres. Its appearance and nature matches what spheres it's connected to. So if one of the beast's spheres is... say... "balance", the beast's appearance could be perfectly symmetrical. If another is "wind", it could have a gust of wind constantly swirling around it, or maybe it has holes that keep blowing out air. If one of them is darkness, it could have extremely dark skin. Get it?

Also, when temples are built, dwarves will meditate on a sphere that's connected to a god they worship. I think [[demon]]s build their [[vault]]s based on spheres of the deities they're working for. Purge template

What's the reason for adding the {{purge}} template, particularly to pages that don't change often like text general.txt? If you find yourself needing to purge pages often for your own editing purposes, I would encourage you to use a user script, like User:Lethosor/purge link.js, to add the feature just for yourself. I think most users don't need this ability to be embedded in the page and would be confused by the purge template. —Lethosor (talk) 02:02, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Answering your spheres question.

I'm sure you found the answer by now, but just in case you didn't... Spheres are topics/aspects of influence that are connected to the randomly generated deities in the Dwarf Fortress world.
