Nerf Crossbows[edit]
The feather tree / adamantine suggestion is great. I found a site that sells custom foam darts for NERF enthusiasts, and the standard dart with a suction cup came out to almost exactly 1 gram for a 4cm dart with an OD of .572". Wolfram alpha tells me this means that the density is 151 (kg/m^3, the same unit that the df raws use). Featherwood is 100, adamantine is 200. In other words, a beating from these crossbows would be similar to someone wielding a pool noodle.
