What's the exact process behind milking a Purring Maggot? I managed to bag one in an animal trap, but milking jobs fail if it's inside an animal trap in the stockpile or a built cage. Does it need to be tamed by the Dungeon Master first?

*Er, a meatshield is a shield (i.e. something that blocks attacks) made of meat (i.e. a living creature). In other words, being all but useless, you use them to take damage from foes (and probably get killed in the process) so that your other dwarves don't get hurt as much. --[[User:Quietust|Quietust]] 14:31, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Has anyone had experience with milking a creature? My attempts to milk camels and cows have failed so far.

It's probably the same as in v0.23, that "Milking" only works on Purring Maggots.

Looking through the .txt files I see that purring maggots have a [MILKABLE:33333] in their descriptions and cows, camels do not. This looks like it. (Courtesy of JT on the forums).
