But what about his travel companions? They are heavily responding to fights with corpses even if those have been night trolls or long dead peasant skel like in catacombs or keep dungeaons. And after a long time of travelling they indeed get hardened by combat experiences. It expresses e.g. by uttering "grim satisfaction" about having killed a monster or enemy.
