And I hereby nominate someone else to do it, as my rig (2007 MacBook Pro with 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of 667MHz DDR2 SRAM) is completely insufficient for an advanced Fort, and any kind of DF adventurer game.

Since there's a mention that it's really RAM latency that matters most, should I put 667MHz as a practical lower limit on an enjoyable DF experience?  I can play a 100 dwarf fort pretty well, even digging to the caverns, as long as I burn all corpse parts and sell all clothing and other junk for high value perishables to keep item count low.  Adv mode, forget it. <small>&ndash; [[template:unsigned|unsigned]] comment by [[User:128.59.151.187|128.59.151.187]]</small>

So far we have three data points none in the same case, all relatively small, all relatively shallow, across 3 different PC's.

It seems like the best thing to do would be to:

Use one low, mid, and possibly high end computer (not sure if high end is necessary, unless even a top shelf rig would lag running DF)

Test for speed in both DF and adventurer mode
