What is 0 level?[edit]

The information on this page states that the indicator on the bottom right of the interface represents the z-level relative to the bottom of the map space. "Each layer of view is a discrete z-level with a value relative to the bottom of the map space, indicated in the lower right corner of the screen." How can this be if this number can turn negative? As an example my current map goes all the way down to -24.

This page conflicts with http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Z-axis which states: "The number at the bottom is the elevation of the current level relative to the world's lowest ocean depth." This makes more sense since this value can be negative.

Either way one of these 2 pages is incorrect.
