I can confirm that being at war makes migrants have military skills. In this fortress my civilization is at war with the goblins, to which my 30 hammerlords have already slaughtered 300 plus goblins/beak dogs/trolls by the 3rd year. The last siege was severely taxing for my fps.
Here is a screenshot of what my Dwarf Therapist looks like... I'm not including the 3 full squads of legendary silver hammer wielding maniacs who are now beginning to wear goblinite armour since this embark has no source of iron or tin. Lets say I have two smelters with one constantly smelting goblinite into steel around the clock.

What does "off-screen" means?[edit]
The section "Causes of war" says that the war "may be declared off-screen during gameplay". What does "off-screen" actually mean? The war declaration happens without mentioning the reason? xjtu-blacksmith 黑山雁 (talk) 06:06, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I would interpret it as not being announced to the player. That line was added in the same page edit as the "Wars may also begin without the player's knowledge or intervention." line higher on the page. As it's not a cause of war and doesn't really belong in the list, I've moved and reworded it to the section intro. Ziusudra (talk) 08:00, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
