Welcome to this wiki! Dwarf Fortress rapidly becomes more complicated, and we're always glad to have new writers.
Since we prefer that you try to follow our wiki's standards, we've made a list of basic guidelines. Note that this is an impersonal template, so some may not apply to you.
- To let us know who you are, please sign your posts on discussion pages by typing
--~~~~
after your posts. This can also be inserted with the button if JavaScript is enabled. - Never, ever, put a question mark in the title of a page. This is not an undoable mistake. The rule list elaborates.
- When making comments on a talk page, use one more colon before each line in your comment than was used in the comment you reply to. Put exactly one empty line between comments by different users but do not use blank lines inside of a comment. If your comment has no indents, use
<br>
after each line. - Avoid making many small edits to a page. Instead, try to make one large edit. This makes the history of the page a lot easier to read.
- Don't edit the user page of another user. If you want to tell them something, add the comment to their talk page.
- If you put a comment at the bottom of a talk page with section headers, you've probably put it in a section. Don't put things in the wrong sections. If necessary, create a section.
- Most importantly, read and follow the rules. Really. Read them.

In response to your user page, which I don't want to edit, you should use the wiki's file upload system. Easier to link to. It is here, why not use it?--Zchris13 00:56, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- I initially was going to use it but didn't want to clutter the wiki's system with screenshots that would probably only ever appear on my user page. Upon further inspection though it seems they can always be deleted later and uploaded to an external host. Thanks for the response. --Elvang 02:18, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Is using the Game_Data template the only way to get a collapsible box? --Elvang 14:18, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Finding sites[edit]
Might I suggest enabling the hidden features to always be turned on? (world and init setttings)
It would help not only finding the features you're looking for, but let you put greater foresight into the other features that you usually discover. --Edward 06:45, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Your embarks[edit]
Are significantly sweet. I am in love with you.
