Name requirements?[edit]
What is the name system that causes these to be generated? I got these and they absolutely raped my dwarves. The lucky part is that I'd had my first immigrant wave, about 20 of them, and the little bastards really only got a few dogs/cats, two children, and...urm...Oh, wait, they got three dwarves, too.
They're as bad as carp (which were not in that river).
I think there were olms too, as well as some other fish; namely, pike. Yes, I got the dynamite duo of slightly-less-famous-than-carp serial killers.
Really, though, I ended up 'solving' the problem pretty soon afterwards; and by solve, I mean 'use a channel I was already building to dam the river long enough to dam it with floodgates then channel out the built-up obsidian and restore controlled flow.'
Basically, the score is now Midna: 1, fish: 0. Playing on a lava map means that one can generally eliminate most naturally-caused water-based problems quickly and easily; but it also means that you deal with the magma's inhabitants and the ever-growing temptation to do something rash with your newfound power.
All in all, it went well. But bringing myself back to the point, how exactly are the names for gar generation picked? And what triggers their (the gar's) generation? That is, specifically, what portion of the name triggers it, or what formula, etcetera.

Gar Cage?[edit]
