Hidden in cages?[edit]

Elves may bring them too, hidden in seemingly empty cages.

Really? First time I've heard anything remotely like this - could it be a bug?--Albedo 23:18, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, i was intentionally fuzzy in the wording. My bad. As far as i recall in former versions they brought vermin in small traps (hadnt played in quite a while), but now they bring them in "normal" cages and then vermin are only visible via view or, once bought, on the stockpile. Out of 7 cages i bought from the elves in 40d 3 had a (tame) vermin in it --Höhlenschreck 23:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Confirmed.--Zchris13 23:44, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
And the cages appear empty? Hmmm, haven't run into that yet, but haven't traded with elves that much - got a grizzly once, saw that no problem. (The guts of 40d are 100% identical to 40d11, untouched - the only thing changed is how the game communicates w/ the hardware - in theory, faster).--Albedo 23:47, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Just found this: [1]
"Big" Animals show up fine. I now wonder how useful my contribution is on this page..might only be interesting if the elves only bring a specific set of vermin, not just any. --Höhlenschreck 23:50, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Saw that too, so it's nothing new (to many, if not to me, ahem- - my bad). But as written it is confusing - seems specific to gray squirrels. I'd suggest removing it from here, and adding it to vermin in general, and maybe with just a comment or link on the specific vermin pages where it is applicable. Add a comment/qualifier about "some types" or "(unknown?)" or something. Might be "all non-evil vermin" - who knows?--Albedo 00:08, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Edited a bit, but I agree we should find a better solution. For now it doesn't hurt like that either. A list of 'elvable' vermin on the vermin page sounds good (but we really need a new game release so we can move from elven crap to real news ;) ). --Höhlenschreck 00:37, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Heh, yup. Moss bwaynoh. Agreed - If you haven't noticed, I'm a big fan of tables over stub articles and redundant explanations in parallel items. Maybe use the forum for more input - go for it!--Albedo 01:05, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Lets continue the disc. at vermin? --Höhlenschreck 10:40, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
