:How about splitting it into individual pages? That's what we do on Wikipedia when a page gets extremely large. It doesn't take up significant extra space in the database, it'll be easier to manage, and this way the "worse" stories can be largely ignored without going through the heartache of deleting anything near to someone's heart. Personally, the "story" of the dwarves is the main draw of playing this game for me (that, and cool architecture). Some Really Old Talk[edit]
Should this really be here? I think we should clear it out, no sense in having stories about the old version. --Roberto 18:37, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
- I agree, blast it. --Infinity 06:00, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
- The stories don't really change, honestly. I think they should stay. Also, would anyone be terribly offended at a link to the epic of Boatmurdered on this page? --The Good Professor 22:37, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- Not at all. The epic of Boatmurdered is epic and DF.
- Also, I suggest that we delete a lot of the stories in here but keep the rest. Some, like "Parabolart's Carpenter," "A small problem" (whose image, which exists only on the old wiki, shows a permaflooded game), and "Next time, don't stand on it" are just plain bad, and others, like "Kerligmosus" and "A Love Story" aren't really even stories.
- However, some stories, like "A Carpenters Dream" are well-written stories (if you ignore the grammer) and could be made from a game on any version of DF.
- This does bring up the question of "how can I determine the quality of this story fairly," which isn't easy to answer. However, the only two alternatives to this that I see are to delete a lot of good stories or to keep a lot of junk. --Savok 22:54, 5 November 2007 (EST)
- I think the stories should stay perhaps create a category for longer stories Jikor
- The stories should stay--Nerd10101 02:24, 9 December 2007 (EST)
I think the stories currently here could be archived to an older page and this page could be started again, it is getting rather large.--Arnos 11:36, 1 January 2008 (EST)

GNU Community Fortress[edit]
I don't think it belong into the stories page. Could we have it moved?
A preface please[edit]
Could someone add a preface at the top that explains just what this page is all about? I have no idea. Are these stories made up? Are they game generated? Are they from bloodline games? Are new stories welcome? Like I said, a preface that explains what this page is all about would be nice (just a few sentances).--Jpwrunyan 23:24, 28 January 2009 (EST)
These are stories created by users based on their experiences in-game. They take what happened in-game, and go into more detail about it. SwallowedSpear 15:49, 2 March 2009 (EST)
A lot of stories...[edit]
I was taking a look at this page, and saw ... 90 and + stories on it. The page is rather long. Would it be a good idea to move each small part to a page, and put that inside a wiki "container" or something to lighten a bit this page. We could then do a small TOC with short description. It's just an idea thrown in the pond. --Karl 14:21, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps separating Adventurer Mode and Fortress Mode stories? I can't really come up with any other logical divisor for them, that wouldn't end up making the number of sub-pages a bigger problem than the length of this one. --Edward 23:32, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
a possibility[edit]
How about we take the ones that are clearly older, and make a page "old stories" and move them there. That takes care of some of them. --Nightwind 23:10, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Ruspmon, "The Eternal Plane"[edit]
Delete?
Too long?[edit]
The page has gotten so long that the wiki abruptly closes the connection after sending 36,261 bytes (out of the 412,683 bytes it claims to be trying to send)... --Quietust 00:33, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- no longer too long! :o --Briess 00:39, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
Move back to mainspace?[edit]
Does it really need to be in the 40d namespace? The stories are pretty universal and some existed long before 40d. --Iffonox 12:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Room Outside of Space?[edit]
