So is the inability to make cloth from hair thread a bug or feature? I'm hoping to make me a nice pair of yak hair pants one day. --Bouchart 00:00, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

You can edit RAWs to make hair weavable. Add
- [SELECT_MATERIAL:HAIR]
- [STATE_NAME:ALL_SOLID:<hair/wool/fur/(yourchoice)>]
- [STATE_ADJ:ALL_SOLID:<hair/wool/fur/(yourchoice)>]
- [YARN]
beneath the [BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:STANDARD_MATERIALS] tag. Obviously replace the <> with whatever you like. Wool or Hair fits most, but DF is all about getting creative. The fact that Toady didn't add this simple stuff to creatures with hair leads me to believe this is a feature not a bug.
