Hi - welcome to the wiki. Someone suggested that you might have just copied/pasted old 40d material into a new page ([[DF2010:Hoary marmot]] - see talk page)- I have no idea if you did or if they're just confused, don't have time to check and don't care if it happened so long as it isn't repeated - but either way, make sure 100% of any material going into new articles has been screened for accuracy w/ the new version - both in your edits, and others'! Readya later. --[[User:Albedo|Albedo]] 05:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC) | Hi - welcome to the wiki. :To clarify, the suggestion was not that you had copypasted old material into the new page, but that you had copied the contents of a template instead of merely linking to it. To link to a template, you just need to put ''<nowiki>{{templatename}}</nowiki>'', and the contents of that template will appear in the page in question. Thanks for your contributions! :) --[[User:Morlark|Morlark]] 06:50, 6 April 2010 (UTC) | :To clarify, the suggestion was not that you had copypasted old material into the new page, but that you had copied the contents of a template instead of merely linking to it. Hi - welcome to the wiki. Someone suggested that you might have just copied/pasted old 40d material into a new page (DF2010:Hoary marmot - see talk page)- I have no idea if you did or if they're just confused, don't have time to check and don't care if it happened so long as it isn't repeated - but either way, make sure 100% of any material going into new articles has been screened for accuracy w/ the new version - both in your edits, and others'! - To clarify, the suggestion was not that you had copypasted old material into the new page, but that you had copied the contents of a template instead of merely linking to it. To link to a template, you just need to put {{templatename}}, and the contents of that template will appear in the page in question. Thanks for your contributions! :) --Morlark 06:50, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I actually copied the template into the article, it was confusion on my part as I was unsure of how to use it properly. Thanks for enlightening me--SanDiego 12:38, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Text alignment versus Infoboxes[edit]
Just so you know, when you put text above an infobox template, the wiki page puts the text above the infobox when complete. Putting the text BELOW the template makes the wiki page put the text BESIDE (and/or below) the infobox. DeMatt 14:01, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
